My name is Joel Velez and my wife’s name is Aida, we are the ones who created Be 3D Printshop, along with the help of our only daughter Paola. We are a small business based out of Miami, Florida. We are originally from Puerto Rico, but we decided to move to the U.S. in search of better life 16 years ago.
For the past couple years I’ve experimented with my 3D printers creating new things and trying out different designs during my free time. Our main inspiration for starting our business came from a time of deep despair, loss and grief due to the loss of our dog Davinci. On 2022 we lost Davinci due to cancer. After being with us for 14 years, he decided that his fight against cancer was over. To say that this was one of the hardest times for our family would be an understatement.
I found myself unmotivated and stopped 3D printing all together. It wasn’t until I saw an old picture of Davinci that I felt inspired and called to use my 3D printer to make something special for my wife and family— a Lithophane Night Light. I remember my wife’s face light up as I showed her the night light. She was so excited she immediately decided to share it on social media and needless to say, that’s how our business got started. From something sad, came something so beautiful, and that’s what we do, we bring to life your most cherished memories.
